FAB - Silly Farm Face Paint

FAB - Silly Farm Face Paint

FAB is a Silly Farm face paint brand that was first introduced to the U.S. by our friends at Silly Farm Supplies and it is made by Superstar in Holland. We carry all of FAB’s best selling Silly Farm face paint colors from their bold classic colors to delightful shimmery pigments. FAB makeup is as easy to apply as it is easy to remove. Simply dampen your sponge or brush to apply this paint and enjoy the full coverage and creamy consistency. These paints will last throughout your event and are just as easy to remove as they are to apply with a little soap and water.

FAB Silly Farm face paint colors are vibrant and the consistency is very easy to work with. FAB makeup is softer than some other brands since it is a glycerin based paint, and this quality makes it perfect for blending smooth bases. Although FAB paint used to be highly perfumed, most colors now only have a slight perfume content so they can be used on sensitive skin. FAB shimmer face paint pigments are sure to turn heads at any event. If you haven’t tried FAB face paint yet, give it a try today. These great paints will make the perfect addition to your kit.

*Before using your paint please take note of the fragrance. We add notes about the perfumes but cannot account for small changes from batch to batch, so the descriptions may vary. We do not offer refunds on used paints, so make sure you like the scent before application. Cakes my shrink, expand, harden or soften due to temperature and humidity.

FAB Silly Farm Face and Body Paints Face Painting Tips

GENERAL INFORMATION

FAB  Silly Farm face paints are a creamy, soft and brilliant line of face paint manufactured by Superstar for Silly Farm. FAB face and body paints are designed in the Netherlands by a team of very experienced people specialized in the design of face and body art products. All raw ingredients and pigments are carefully chosen and sourced around the world to provide you with the best face painting products you can think of. FAB has a range of regular colors that are bold, vibrant and opaque, a shimmery range of soft Shimmer colors including dual tone colors that are unique and exclusive to the FAB range

Some colors you won't want to miss are FAB Ziva Blue, Peacock Shimmer, Petrol Blue and Ocean Shimmer. Each one of them is unique and will blow your mind!

PRO TIP: Due to changes in humidity and temperature the paint can contract and expand creating surface cracks. That is absolutely normal and it does not affect at all the performance of the product. All cracks will disappear as you add water and work with the product.

HOW TO ACTIVATE FAB FACE PAINTS?

In order to activate FAB face paints, use a damped face painting sponge or face painting brush. The first step is to get your sponge or brush slightly moisten, making sure to remove any excess water before activating the face and body paint to prevent the paint from getting too runny. Then, you can activate the face paint by rubbing the face painting brush or sponge against the surface of the cake, making sure to keep rubbing back and forward until the face paint has a creamy consistency. If you are using a face painting brush for line work you can also go for a more ink like consistency, just use a bit more water. If you have too much water on the cake keep rubbing the sponge or brush in order to work that water into the paint and get the right consistency, or remove the excess water from your cake with a sponge. You want to make sure that your brush or sponge are not dripping. FAB face paints have a really nice creamy consistency when properly activated.

You can find a more in depth explanation on how to activate face paints in our blog.

HOW TO APPLY FAB FACE PAINTING SOLID COLORS?

Once you have your brush or sponge fully loaded with face paint is time to paint. If you are using a face painting sponge make sure to apply the face paint using a patting motion rather than swiping your sponge since a swiping move might leave an uneven result. Patting gently and consistently gives you a much smoother and opaque base than swiping your sponge since swiping can give you a streaky look. We recommend to use face painting sponges when applying a base coat rather than a brush, as the sponge is faster and provides a more even look to your base. You can also use a kabuki style brush to apply an even looking base coat, in that case move your brush in a circular motion to spread the paint on the face or body.

You can read more about activating face paints with sponges in our blog post: How to Use a Face Painting Sponge. And don't forget to check our blog post about creating a smooth base coat.

When working with brushes simply lay the face painting brush against the skin and move it in the direction you wish to go. Make sure to keep a steady firm hand to have good control over your brush. Focus mostly on the destination point rather than the tip of the brush itself. You can read more about how to face paint with a brush in our blog post: How to Use Face Painting Brushes.

HOW TO REMOVE FAB SILLY FARM FACE AND BODY PAINTS?

FAB face and body paints can be removed easily with just soap and water. You can use a soft sponge or cloth to help you with the removal process; this is specially good when dealing with darker colors, which tend to be a bit harder to remove. Always start by coating the skin with a thin layer of gentle facial soap, we highly recommend the Brush and Body Wash soap by the Jest Paint. Once you have worked the soap into the face paint and loosened up all of the pigment, then proceed to rinse. It is always best to add soap first and then rinse, since if you use water first you might remove the natural skin oils and allow the pigment to settle inside your pores. You might need to repeat this process a few times in order to remove all of the face paint. Always make sure to be super gentle as excessive rubbing of your skin can cause irritation. Also, we suggest not to use scented baby wipes since the perfume can cause allergic reactions. If any stains are left on the skin, consider using face lotion, makeup remover or baby oil. You might need to let the lotion or baby oil set in for a few minutes before wiping it off. In the rare case in which a stain is still visible after this process, please wait for 24 hours before attempting to wash off the area again to prevent irritation of the skin. Normal sweating and oil production from your skin will aid in the removal process, as well as rubbing against your sheets while you sleep. Always wash your face paint before going to bed, but it is ok to wait until the next morning to remove extra stubborn stains since the sweating and oils created while you sleep will make that process easier the next morning.

Keep in mind that all face paints can stain since it depends mostly on your skin type. If you are concerned, always try a small patch of the color on the area to be painted and test for stains 30 minutes after. If the color does leave a stain, you might want to consider using a different color if that concerns you. Colors like dark green, dark blue and teal are usually more likely to stain in every brand. FAB has worked very hard finding pigments that are less likely to leave stains, but there is always a possibility. Also, keep in mind that each person reacts different, and even the same person won't get stained the same way on the face than on the arms. It all depends on your skin type, how oily it is, how dry it is, etc.

To remove the face paint off your face painting brushes and sponges, we recommend using a brush soap like Lush Brush soap by the Art Factory. These soaps are designed to remove oils and pigments off your tools and will do a much better job than regular hand soap. Once your tools have been washed off and thoroughly rinsed to remove all traces of soap, let them dry out completely before storing them.

HOW TO STORE FAB SILLY FARM FACE PAINTS?

Like with all makeup products, it is always best to keep FAB face and body paints away from a direct light source and in a cool and dry environment. Excessive heat can make your face paints really soft, and excessive light can fade the colors on the outer layers of your cake. An excess of humidity can cause mold to grow and spoil your face paints. A very dry environment might lead to surface cracks developing on your paint.

Before putting your face paints away after you have been using them, make sure to wipe the top clean using a clean sponge (do not use baby wipes since they will leave a fuzzy layer on your cakes), let them dry out with the lids open and then proceed to put the lids back on and store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. You can use laptop cases to keep light away from your cakes. Never spray your cakes with makeup sanitizers as that can change the formula of the product. Your face paints already have preservatives that help prevent bacteria growth when used and stored as directed.

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE INFORMATION

All FAB face and body painting colors have been formulated with FDA approved pigments for cosmetic application.

Like all cosmetic products, face paints can cause an allergic reaction if the individual is allergic to any of its components. Although FAB face paints have been formulated with special ingredients to reduce the chances of an allergic reaction, an allergy free experience can not be guaranteed by any manufacturer. The manufacturer recommends that this product should not be applied to broken or sensitive skin. Test by placing a small amount to the wrist, if reaction occurs within 30 minutes do not use. Keep in mind that FAB face paints are free of perfume and they are also nut, gluten and latex free.

Please know that in the US the FDA does not recommend the use of purple, red blue and green makeup colors near the eyes or lips area, regardless of the brand. Use within 12 months of opening the package.

GMO, GLUTEN, PARABENS, NUTS AND VEGAN CONCERNS

Based on the manufacturers claim, FAB face paints are not vegan since they contain lanolin, an oil obtained from sheep's wool, but, they are not tested on animals.
